Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

Pope Francis jokes with bishops from Puerto Rico: Drink wine and tell the truth

2015-06-08

Bishops from Puerto Rico met with Pope Francis during their 'ad limina' visit to Rome.

The Pope suggested that they meet while eating and, once again, Pope Francis showed his sense of humor.

"We usually don't have a meeting while eating. It is the first time it's been done. There was no place to go. So, we will eat lunch and will be more relaxed. And a little wine will loosen the tongue and you can tell me the truth.”

In a written speech delivered to the bishops, Pope Francis recalled that the Church "is not linked to any political system.” He also asked them to defend families as they face challenges from economic difficulty, emigration, domestic violence, and drug trafficking.

The bishops were also advised about the dangers of gender theory and he invited them to promote marriage.
