Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

The three official anthems for the papal visit to Latin America

Every time Pope Francis goes on an international trip, special new music goes with him. From his first international trip to Brazil, to his last one in the Philippines and Sri Lanka, a soundtrack has always been composed to give rhythm to the Pope's visit.

The Pope's trip to Ecuador will have a sound like this too. Monsignor Anibal Nieto wrote the official hymn for the upcoming papal voyage, which takes place from July 5th to 8th. "Welcome, Pope Francis, a messenger of love, Ecuador opens its doors to such a noble ambassador,” the lyrics say.

The Pope will then head to Bolivia, where he will stay until July 10th. The singer Carlos Soria won his country's contest, and he has written a song called "With Francis.” There was just one requirement in the song-writing selection: The hymn had to contain this phrase: "With Francis, we announce the joy of the Gospel.”

The final leg of the trip will take place in Paraguay. The country chose the musical group "Nazarenos” to compose a hymn. Their song, "Thank you, Holy Father” is an appreciation of the Pope's decision to visit their country.
