Rappers write a song in honor of the persecuted Christians

2015-07-24

The title of this rap is "Persecuted Christians,” a song written for the 200 million Christians in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East who are currently being harassed for the mere fact of being baptized.

Sung by the Spanish artists Fresh Sánchez and StelioN and featuring Argentine singer Athenas Vénica, they ask God to protect these Christians.

The lyrics of the song testify to the strength of these persecuted Christians' faith, which they refuse to abandon. It also speaks of the dire situation in which these Christians find themselves.

The video was made possible by the efforts of the Aid to the Church in Need foundation, which obtained images of the thousands of people suffering harassment and persecution in Iraq, Nigeria, India and China.

The artists want to use their song to make the world take notice of this tragedy, but they also want it to convey hope, because, as the Pope says, such terrible suffering will bear glorious fruit in the form of new Christians.

Through the strength of their voices, these three artists want to remind these Christians that they are not alone.
