But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

The government of the Order of Malta will elect the successor of the Grand Master in April

February 15, 2017. On April 29, the Council Complete of State, the Order’s constitutional body, will elect the next Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta (or, as provided for in the Constitution, a Lieutenant of the Grand Master, to hold office for a year).

Pope names a Special Envoy for Medjugorje

The president of Ukraine invites the Pope to visit his country

(VIDEO ONLY) Pope Francis met with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko this Friday during his visit to Italy. The Pope accepted his invitation to visit the country and assured him that he will never forget to pray for Ukraine, according to a message Poroshenko shared on Facebook.

The Ukrainian leader also took advantage of the opportunity to ask the Pope to complete the beatification of Andrey Sheptytsky and to begin the procedures for raising Bishop Stephen Chmil to the altars.

Among other issues, they also discussed the conflict in Ukraine. Both leaders said they hope the Minsk agreements will be followed.
