"To have him support the cause to save lives on our roads was the biggest push we could get for this campaign and it will help us to save millions of lives in the coming decade.”

Road traffic crashes are a leading cause of death for children under 18 years of age. Around 186,300 children lose their lives in road traffic crashes around the world each year.

French director Luc Besson teams up with road safety campaigners from across the world to produce a film about child road safety. The plan is to ensure safety on the roads by providing different types of roads for their designated space; and enhancing roads and vehicle designs.

The next Global High Level Conference on Road Safety will be held in Brazil on November 17, 2016
