Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

Pope Francis will have an Instagram account, "Franciscus," on Saturday

2016-03-16

Francis also has signed up for Instagram. The Pope's account on the social network site will be launched on Saturday, March 19. The launch will coincide with the feast of St. Joseph and the profile will bear the name "Franciscus.”

Instagram has more than 400 million users and shares photos and videos with a community of followers. Kevin Systrom, president and one of the founders of the company, visited Francis a few days ago in Rome.

It will not be the first time that the Vatican is using Instagram. The news portal News.va has had an account for three years. It has followed Francis' entire pontificate sharing his photos and messages.

The Vatican is revamping the way they communicate. At the end of 2012, they opened the Twitter account @Pontifex in nine languages, from which Benedict XVI sent several messages.
