On Saturday afternoon, Pope Francis met with thousands of pilgrims in St. Peter's to pray the 'Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

During this special Jubilee event, Pope Francis asked not to be tempted to speak of mercy without doing anything.

POPE FRANCIS
'It is easy to speak of mercy, yet more difficult to become its witness. This mercy comes to us as closeness and tenderness, and because of this, comes also as compassion and solidarity, as consolation and forgiveness.

More specifically, the Pope asked each diocese in the world to launch an ambitious charity this same year.

POPE FRANCIS
'How beautiful it would be to have as a reminder, a 'memorial as it were, in every diocese during this Year of Mercy, an institutional expression of mercy: a hospital, a home for the elderly, for abandoned children, a school where none exists, a home for the recovery of addicts There are so many things that could be done

Before leaving, the Pope greeted several pilgrims. This elegantly dressed woman asked him for an autograph to decorate her cast. And this young couple managed to get a special blessing from the pontiff.
