2016-04-08

Pope Francis did not interrupt his schedule for the publication of his apostolic exhortation 'Amoris Laetitia' and, as every year, received more than 200 donors into the Papal Foundation, a charity which funds US initiatives for the Pope.

Pope Francis thanked the 'Stewards of Saint Peter' for their generous work, that is even more important in the Year of Mercy.

POPE FRANCIS
"We have been called by Christ to share this mercy with those who are spiritually and materially needy through spiritual and corporal works of mercy, with that spirit of generosity and kindness that reflects the immense goodness of God.”

The Papal Foundation was born 26-years-ago in Philadelphia, thanks to Cardinal John Kro. The Pope highlighted the great work of the foundation that has served projects for diocesan, parish and religious communities, and summed it up.

"They're very good.”
