Pope at Santa Marta: May God give us humility so that our hearts can open with meekness

2016-04-15

The Pope recalled today in his homily at Casa Santa Marta how God has the ability to change hearts. He gave the example of the future St. Paul, who persecuted Christians when he was a devout man but did not have the heart open to God. A danger that all people face.

POPE FRANCIS
"Let us ask Him to give us the grace and – if necessary – the humiliations not to remain on the ground but to rise, with the dignity with which God created us, that is, the grace of a heart open and docile to the Holy Spirit.”

Among those attending the Mass was the president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, who has also been invited to participate in a conference at the Vatican.
