Pope sends condolences for victims of Turkish cargo jet crash

January 16, 2017. On Monday morning, a Turkish cargo plane has tragically crashed in Kyrgyzstan, killing dozens and hospitalizing many others. Many homes and vehicles in the small village are also destroyed. As a result, Vatican Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin has sent a message of condolences to the victims of the disaster on behalf of Pope Francis.

The presidents of the Council of European Bishops' Conferences have visited the Pope to explain their projects and initiatives.

"On issues such as family, and other issues such as poverty."

This Council concludes its mandate in October, so the meeting almost served as a farewell.

The Pope greeted his collaborators, and as usual, asked them to pray for him.

For a few days, representatives of the Council will remain in Rome to report their activities to the Roman Curia and ask their advice.
