Hundreds of pilgrims venerate the relics of the Fatima visionaries in the cathedral of Rome

2016-05-13

Our Lady of Fatima is still of great importance for the faithful. This was evident when the relics of Jacinta and Francisco arrived in Rome. They are two of the children who saw the Virgin on May 13, 1917, in Portugal.

The relics and the image of the Virgin of Fatima was venerated Friday by hundreds of faithful in St. John Lateran, the cathedral of Rome.

"I am convinced that it helped me and helped my family and my children. Since that time I am very devoted to the Virgin of Fatima."

"She is very close to people in difficulty. With her simple presence as our Mother, we are closer to the path of faith.”

The event began outside the Basilica and afterwards, a brief procession continued with prayers and reflections inside the cathedral.
