Another one of the big surprises at the Scholas conference was the presence of Salma Hayek.

The Hollywood star traveled to the Vatican with her family to support the educational project of the Pope. She was awarded the Scholas "Medal of the Olive," which acts as a symbol of peace. During the meeting with the Pope, she promised to work to boost his project.

Minutes before the meeting, she said, "He's the best Pope that has ever existed. How important he is in the world at this time, when the world needs such leaders more than ever."
