Pope Francis, following the recent attacks: It is not a war of religions. Religions want peace

2016-07-27

The World Youth Day began here during the flight to Poland.

The Pope did not hide his concern about the increase in terrorist attacks in Europe, in front of the journalists accompanying him on the plane. He said the situation in the world is drastic.

POPE FRANCIS
"The world is at war, a piecemeal war. There was the 1914 war with its methods, then the 1939-45 one and now this one. It is not very organic (structured) but it is organized, it is war. Not a war of religion. No. All religions want peace. The others want war. Is this understood?”

The Pope said he travels to Krakow not only to speak to young people but also to listen. He noted that there is much that they can contribute.

POPE FRANCIS
"Young people speak with hope. Hopefully, young people will say something to give us a little more hope.”

Poland is the first major meeting place for Pope after his summer holiday spent in Rome and you could tell he returned with renewed energy. On the plane, he did not miss his tradition to greet each and every one of the journalists present.
