On Tuesday, the pope will fly to Assisi to attend the World Day of Prayer for Peace. In this ecumenical event, he will meet with representatives from other denominations, including the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholomew I.
On Wednesday, the pope will celebrate the General Audience in St. Peter's with thousands of pilgrims.
On Saturday at noon he will meet with relatives of the victims of the Nice attacks that took place on July 14. The audience will be in Paul VI Audience Hall.
On Sunday, at 10.30 a.m., he will celebrate a Mass in St. Peter's Basilica on account of the Jubilee for Catechists.
Later that day, at noon, he will lead the Angelus prayer from the window in his office in the Apostolic Palace.
Other meetings are also scheduled throughout the week, including one with the former president of Argentina, Carlos Menem. Pope Francis will also welcome the new ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Holy See, Sally Axworthy, who will present her credentials to the pope.
