The Chinese musician gave a special and emotional touch to the ceremony with his performance in the presence of worldwide leaders as Ban Ki-moon, Thomas Bach or Prince Albert of Monaco.

After the performance, he greeted Pope Francis.

Lang Lang is known around the world for his commitment to garnering support in order to improve children's lives. He has been a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF for more than a decade and he was also named Messenger of Peace by the United Nations.
