The pope was surrounded by children in this October 'Mercy Friday.â? He visited 'Villaggio SOSâ? a facility where children can enjoy a normal familiar and social environment.

The children took him by the hand and showed him where they live.

This facility welcomes boys and girls, up to 12 years old, who have had a complicated childhood, so that they can get a sense of what a true home really is.

The pope, who could not help but smile throughout the entire visit, enjoyed a mid-afternoon snack with the toddlers, who shared pastries and lots of sweets with him.

He greeted the workers and the volunteers at the center and he gave them his blessing. Before he left, the kids did not spare the occasion to show him their love and affection one last time.
