As part of his 'Mercy Fridays resolution, Pope Francis visited 'Villagio SOS, a children's home in Rome for children who have difficult family situations.

The pope was infected with the children's positive energy, and could not help but smile throughout the entire visit.

The children, excited about their special guest, took the pope by the hand to show him around the facilities.

The children at the home live in one of the five houses with a handful of other children, and a 'Villaggio SOS 'mom', that takes care of them and ensures a healthy family environment.

The pope sat down to share a mid-afternoon snack with the toddlers, consisting of pastries and lots of sweets. One boy even wanted to give the pope a taste of his lollipop.

'Buono.

'Grazie.

Pope Francis also greeted the workers and volunteers of the center and he gave them his blessing.

Before leaving, the Pope Francis wanted to say goodbye to his hosts for the afternoon, and he kissed the children on the head one by one.
