In his December prayer intentions video, Pope Francis asks for prayers for child soldiers, so that 'the scandal of child soldiers may be eliminated the world over.'
Every month since January, the pope has published a video that shows his special intentions for the month. It is a request to all Christians, non-believers and those who profess another religion to join in prayer.
According to a UNICEF report, there are an estimated 300,000 children under the age of 18 who are involved in more than 30 conflicts around the world.
