Ten new consultants appointed by pope for the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization

The first representative is the Spanish priest Fernando Ocariz, who is the vicar general of Opus Dei. Also Pascual Chavez Villanueva from Mexico who serves as the president of the Union of Superiors General and is rector major of the Salesians. There?s Kiko Arguello, who is the founder of the Neocatechumenal Way. Julián Carrón from Spain is the president of Communion and Liberation. Finally, there?s Sister Mary Lou Wirtz, an American who serves as the president of the International Union of Superiors General. Among the experts are the rector of the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Frenchman François-Xavier Dumortier. ; Also, the vice president of the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy, Father Pierangelo Sequeri. There?s Sara Butler, professor at Saint Joseph seminary in New York. And two Italian women. Chiara Amirante, founder of the association "New Horizons" and Lucetta Scaraffia, history Professor at the University of La Sapienza in Rome. With these appointments Benedict XVI ; is once again enforcing the strength of the Pontifical Council. The group focuses on activities that deal with evangelization.
