Pope and his brother enjoy the gift of music in Castel Gandolfo

The music was played by German musician Albrecht Mayer. He interpreted the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, a Lutheran musician whose music seems to reflect an understanding of divinity and of course of faith. In the second part of the concert, violinist Arabella Steinbacher played music composed by Antonio Vivaldi, who was a Catholic priest. His music bears a melody of serenity and joy. The pope attributes both these factors to the musician?s strong faith and devotion. After the concert, the pope stood thanked the musicians for the gift, on his behalf and that of his brother.
