The Chinese Patriotic Church is controlled by the Chinese government. They arrested priests and Catholics that are faithful to the Church of Rome. It was done in an effort to support the new bishop proposed by the Patriotic Church for the city of Tianshui. China has no official relationship with the Vatican. The Vatican has said those involved in illicit ordinations by the Chinese government ; would be excommunicated. BR/AE RR JM BN
