Disagreements continue between Lefebvrists and Rome

This latest shift in opinion, follows the publication of a letter from these three bishops to their superior Bernard Fellay. In it, they note that the Pope's thinking is subjective. They also add that by joining the Vatican, they would be at the hands of "modernists and liberals.�

The Vatican's spokesman, father Federico Lombardi confirms that a reconciliation between Rome and the Fraternity of St. Pius X is not a given. So, even though it all seemed quite close, at the moment the negotiations are still in the works.
