Pope closes the World Meeting of Families in Milan

Benedict XVI spoke about how to find the balance between family, work and celebrations, which was the theme of the meeting. Benedict XVI “Harmonizing work time and the demands of family, a career and parenthood, work and celebration are important to build a society with a human face.” Benedict XVI also had some words for couples that were separated or divorced. He said that the Pope and the Church support them during their difficult times. Benedict XVI “I wanted to dedicate some words to the faithful who, while sharing the teachings of the Church, go through painful situations of failure and separation. Know that the Pope and the Church will hold you in your fatigue.” He also told them not to feel isolated but to join those closest to them in order to overcome those moments of pain. To those married couples that were present, the Pope encouraged them to renew their love every day and said it was precisely through love, that was the only way to change the world. Benedict XVI "Live it with courage, confident that to the extent that, with the help of divine grace, and you live reciprocal love towards all, you will become a living Gospel, in a true domestic church." It was the finishing touch for the World Meeting of Families, which was attended by families from more than 153 countries. BR/AE CTV VM -BN
