President of UN General Assembly gives pope symbolic gift for peace

There was also an exchanging of gifts. Benedict XVI gave the president a lithograph with a Vatican seal and Mr. Al-Nasser gave him ;an engraved tray ;with the word 'peace' written in every language. It was a symbolic gift because the UN president has placed the 'mediation for peaceful settlement of disputes' as his main duty.

The president was also accompanied by his wife, son, and an entourage from the UN.
