Swiss Cardinal Henri Schwery turns 80, voting cardinals drops to 121

Schwery was ordained a priest on July 7, 1957 at the age of 25. He was created a cardinal in 1991 by Pope John Paul II. He then participated in the conclave that elected Benedict XVI in 2005. He will now join the ranks of non-elector cardinals, elector cardinals now number 121. Now Switzerland will only have one voting cardinal with Kurt Koch, who was elevated to the position in 2010.
