Portuguese musician João Gil composes Mass for Year of Faith

The composition is titled 'Missa Brevis', and contains 13 songs performed by Luis Represas and Manuel Rebelo.

All pieces are written in Latin and based on liturgical texts to accompany portions of the Mass, like the Creed or the Lord's Prayer.

João Gil participated in the Court of the Gentiles in November 2012, an event organized by the Church to foster dialogue with non-believers.

The musician says that composing music for the Mass not only gives him the chance to work with classical music, but also help maintain the culture and richness of the Faith.
