Pope welcomes president of the Swiss Confederation, on key anniversary for both States

The president was accompanied by a group of six people. Each one individually greeted the Pope. May 6th marks a key anniversary for the Church and Switzerland. On that very day back in 1527, a total of 147 Swiss soldiers died defending Pope Clement VII, during an attack that's now known as the ;'Sack of Rome.' As a gift, Pope Francis gave the president a large papal medallion. KLH CTV -JM -BN
