Pope prays for those kidnapped in Syria, calls for worldwide peace

POPE FRANCIS“I wish to assure my prayers and solidarity with the hostages and their families, and I appeal to the humanity of the kidnappers to release the victims.”

As a point of reference, the Pope recalled other conflicts that were able to achieve peace in several Latin American countries. He also stressed that “all is lost with war. All is gained with peace.”

Earlier Sunday morning, he celebrated Mass with the families of ; Italian soldiers who died ; in peacekeeping missions.

During the Angelus, the Pope reflected on the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes, in which Jesus taught his disciples the importance of sharing.
