Pope welcomes Iran's new ambassador to the Holy See

Iran has a new ambassador to the Holy See. ;The Pope welcomed Mohammed Taher Rabbani to the Vatican's Apostolic Palace, where he presented the Pope with his credentials. ;

The ambassador came along with his diplomatic delegation and the Pope individually greeted each one of them. ;

As a gift, Rabbani gave the Pope a tapestry that was made in his home town and a book collection. ;

Before coming to Rome, Rabbani served as the ;Iranian Ambassador to Guinea and he was also the Foreign Ministry Director for Parliamentary and Legislative Affairs. He has also served as an ambassador in Qatar. ;
