Pope Francis video message: go out and help those who need it most

Though hes no longer back home in Buenos Aires, Pope Francis still took part in the citys feast day celebrations for St. Cajetan, Argentinas patron saint of bread and work.

He sent a video message echoing this year's theme, a topic very near to his heart and at the fore front of his papacy: go out and meet with those in need

POPE FRANCIS

"The theme speaks about the people who are most in need; those who are in greatest need of our help. Those who need us to look at them with affection, who need us to identify with their pain and anxieties, their problems. But the most important thing is not to look at them from afar or help them from afar. No, no. We need to meet them. That is the Christian way!â?

In his five minute speech, Pope Francis goes even further, explaining that entire communities must work to create a culture of these encounters with the needy. He asked pilgrims to follow the examples of Jesus and of St. Cajetan, an Italian priest that dedicated his entire life to the poor, the sick and the orphans.

POPE FRANCIS

"Your heart, when you meet with those in greatest need, becomes bigger, and bigger, and bigger! Because these encounters multiply the capacity to love. Go on!â?

The Pope closed off his message with a simple petition, which has become a hallmark of his pontificate: asking the faithful to pray for him
