Pope arrives in Assisi. Starts off visit by greeting the sick

Pope Francis arrived to Assisi at roughly 7.45 a.m on Friday morning. With a full schedule ahead, the Pope began his visit by meeting with young people with disabilities at the Church run Serafico Institute. ; ;

The Pope made it a point to greet the sick and their parents. It's a gesture that reflects the personality of St. Francis, whose life took a dramatic turn, when centuries ago, he saw a leper and decided to care for him.
