Cardinal Geraldo Majella Agnelo turns 80, cardinal electors down to 109
The Archbishop emeritus of San Salvador de Bahia, Cardinal Geraldo Agnelo, will turn 80 years old on October 19. He will becomeineligible to vote in a future conclave, bringing down the number of papal electors to 109.
The Brazilian prelate has served as vice president for CELAM, the Latin American bishops' group. John Paul II made him cardinal in 2001, and he holds very dear memories of the late Pope.
