Kerygma Awards contest honors short films on human values

In years past, the short film contest, known as the Kerygma Awards, has had the support of some of Hollywood's big names like, Martin Sheen or Ralph Winter, producer of the X-Men series.

This year, the awards will showcase and honor the best short films that talk about peace.

"The international short film contest was born thanks to the initiative of a small group of professors and students at the Villanueva University Center in Madrid. They came together to launch a platform for people with a few artistic unrest.

The contest aims to promote good values among promising filmmakers. Participants have until March 17 to send in their submissions.

"In the time we've had the Awards, we've given out more than $41,000 in prizes.

Speaking of prizes, there's even a bit of advice for future winners. For example, what should they do when they pick up their prize? These group of actors explains.

ANA WAGENER

"Above all, be careful when you pick up the prize, and don't fall. Especially if you pick up a prize as ugly as this one.

Contest details are available on the awards webpage. It's open to people between 17 and 25 years old. Though there can only be one winner, at least there's some good news for the other participants.

The first place winners for the fourth edition of the short film contest will take home $5,000, second place will win $1,000, and $500 for third place.
