During the Angelus prayer, Pope Francis assured that God does not discriminate against anyone. He explained that his calling has three characteristics: gratuity, breadth and universality.

Pope Francis lamented that many reject God´s call and instead prefer to pay more attention to material objects and personal interests.

He also called on Christians to not close the door to those marginalized and rejected, but rather to lend them a hand and invite them to be part of the celebrations. He emphasized that no one should feel privileged.

POPE FRANCIS
'Everyone is given a chance to respond to His invitation, to His call; no one has the right to feel privileged or claim exclusivity. This leads us to overcome the habit of placing ourselves in the center, as the chiefs of the priests and pharisees did. This should not be done; we must open ourselves to the peripheries, recognizing that those at the margins, even those who have been rejected and scorned by society, are objects of God´s generosity. We are all called to not reduce the Kingdom of God to the confines of the 'little Church - our 'little Church - but rather to expand the Church to the dimensions of the Kingdom of God.

Pope Francis prayed a Hail Mary for those affected by the terrible floods that have hit the city of Genoa, in Italy.

POPE FRANCIS
'In this moment, our thoughts are with the city of Genoa, which has been affected once again by floods. I assure you that I am praying for the victim and for those who have suffered grave damages.

Pope Francis also greeted the Canadian pilgrims that have traveled to Rome to celebrate the canonization of Saint Franí§ois de Laval and Marie de lâ??Incarnation.
