John Paul II: First Pope to visit a Buddhist Temple

(-ONLY VIDEO-) ;Back in 1984 John Paul II visited Thailand. To the surprise of many be visited a Buddhist Temple in Bangkok, know as Rajchaborpitsathitmahasrimaram. ; Pope Francis also decided to visit a Buddhist Temple on Wednesday during his visit to Sri Lanka, in the area of Colombo. ; The visit wasn't part of his official schedule. He was invited by the venerable Banagala Upatissa Thera, who actually welcomed the Pope at the airport and took part in the inter-religous meeting. ; The Vatican's spokesperson, Fr.
