It's an international conference that's expected to bring in more than 20 million people over a six month span. The Vatican has announced that it will have a pavilion in this year's EXPO Milan. The theme of its installation will focus on a popular Bible passage that reads: 'Not on Bread Alone.'

CARD. GIANFRANCO RAVASI
Pontifical Council for Culture, President
'In a way, our pavilion will be the exception to the rule, because it won't promote an initiative or the sale of a commercial product.â?

The conference will be an opportunity for 140 countries to showcase how their nation's initiatives and technologies are promoting innovation in food security and energy production.

In an area that spans more than 8,000 feet, the Holy See will showcase the importance food and nourishment have on a practical, spiritual and social level.

CARD. GIANFRANCO RAVASI
Pontifical Council for Culture, President
'We see this a lot nowadays. Video art and photography that's used for dramatic presentations. That's exactly why we will have drawings, videos and photography on the walls of our pavilion.â?

MSGR. GIAMPIETRO DAL TOSO
Pontifical Council Cor Unum, Secretary
'It's not just about physical hunger. It's also a reflection on social ills, like gambling, alcoholism and other vices that reflect a lack of God and spiritual poverty.

The conference will run from May 1st to October 30th. It wont' be the first time the Holy See takes part in this unique conference. It did so under the pontificate of Pope Paul VI back in 1971 and under the pontificate of Benedict XVI.
