A Rome Reports documentary gets a nomination at the Catholic Oscars

There were more than 1,000 entries at the International Catholic Film Festival, which is also known as the Oscars of Catholic cinema. And the Rome Reports documentary "The Secret of Teresa� was nominated for Best Director.

"We were joyful to receive this nomination because we've followed the International Catholic Film Festival for years. Further, the movies that were considered this year were of very high quality.�

"The Secret of Teresa� tells stories about how St. Teresa of Lisieux changed thousands of lives in diverse places like Argentina, the United States, Nigeria, Lebanon, or Amsterdam.

The Paraguayan film "Blessed are Those Who Mourn,â? which was directed by Marcelo Torcida, took home the Best Picture and Best Director Awards. 

The actor Juan del Santo, who starred in the film "Flow,� won the "Silver Fish� for Best Actor

A documentary about how a woman named Jessica Cox overcame her disability won Best Documentary.

The winning films will be shown in prisons and hospitals throughout the world. The festival will also promote them during meetings with producers and distributors in the film industry.
