Pope Francis announces canonization date for Thérèse of Lisieux's parents

"Blesseds Vincenzo Gross, Maria of the Immaculate Conception, and Louis Martin and Marie-Azélie Guérin Martin, spouses.â?

The Pope has announced when the parents of Saint Thérí¨se of Lisieux will be canonized. It will take place on October 18th and will coincide with the Synod on the Family. The Pope made the official announcement during an ordinary public consistory on Saturday, June 27th.

In March of this year, Pope Francis recognized the second miracle needed to canonize both parents of the saint. A girl from Spain named Carmen was inexplicably cured from a cerebral hemorrhage that was damaging her lungs and heart. She is now healthy and living a normal life.

Two other saints will be canonized on the same day: Vincenzo Grossi, the founder of the Daughters of the Oratory; and Maria Cristina of the Immaculate Conception, Superior of the Sisters of the Company of the Cross.
