Pope Francis warns against gossip during his morning Homily

Pope Francis began celebrating his daily public Mass again at Casa Santa Marta. In his first Homily since taking a break for the summer, he discussed a passage in the New Testament that showed a problem in early Christian communities: They spoke about God a lot, but He wasn't the center of their lives.

POPE FRANCIS

"In our communities, in our parishes, do we speak about how we are waiting for the Lord to come? Or do we gossip about other things to pass the time, so we don't get too bored?

The Pope recommended what Paul told early Christian communities: Speak less, show more love to other people with concrete actions, and always keep an eye toward God.
