Pope Francis will have a busy week before beginning his whirlwind tour of Cuba and the United States.

He'll meet with the influential Council of Cardinals, also known as the C9, starting on Monday September 14th. ;Their discussions about how to reform the Roman Curia and Church governance will last until Wednesday. It is their 11th meeting.

The following day, Pope Francis will find time to meet with the Russian Orthodox Church's chairman of the Department of External Church Relations. ;

The Pope's weekly general audience will be held Wednesday morning in St. Peter's Square. Thousands of pilgrims are expected to attend and hear his thoughts about family life.

Later that day, he'll speak to European ministers of the environment who are in Rome to discuss climate change and ecology.

On noon Thursday, Pope Francis will speak with participants of the World Meeting for Young Consecrated Men and Women.

Once his busy week is over, he won't be resting during the weekend. Pope Francis leaves for Cuba on Saturday. He won't return to Rome until September 27th. ;
