The book with everything you need to know about the Jubilee of Mercy

To better understand an event as extraordinary as the Jubilee, anything helps. And a new book aims to do exactly that. "Jubilee, Mercy, Francis is a complete guide to getting ready for walking through the Holy Door.

ANGELO SCELZO

Author, "Jubilee, Mercy, Francis

"I believe that it's a useful instrument to follow the Jubilee from many points of view. First, it clarifies from a spiritual point what the Jubilee is and why the Pope has convened it. It also explains why Mercy is a key part of the Pope's pontificate.

Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin attended the book's introductory event. He explained what exactly the Jubilee of Mercy means.

CARD. PIETRO PAROLIN

Vatican Secretary of State

"We open our hearts to welcome the mercy of God. I believe that this is the invitation, the message we can give to everyone. I hope that no Catholic, no baptized person, and I would even say that no person of goodwill, misses this occasion.

The book's cover even reflects the theme of mercy. The designer herself explained how it depicts modern dramas like the tragedy of refugees.

NATALIA TSARKOVA

Cover designer, "Jubilee, Mercy, Francis

"It is the merciful hand of God that is holding the boat, which is green as a symbol of hope. The Church is a symbol of Salvation. Inside the boat there are many people: there are immigrants, needy people, and others who are carrying out acts of mercy like giving things to drink and eat. They are all looking up, where the title of the book is written on the boat's sail.

In addition to explaining the special relationship that Pope Francis has with Mercy, the book also contains practical information about the calendar of events of this Jubilee and testimonies of Mercy from people like St. John Paul II and Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
