Pope Francis at the Epiphany: Before Jesus this is no distinction of race, language or culture

Pope Francis presided over the Mass of the Epiphany in St. Peter's Basilica before thousands of pilgrims from around the world. During the homily, Pope Francis explained that the light that shines on the Church is not his own, it is that of Christ, clarifying once again its main purpose. POPE FRANCIS "To proclaim the Gospel of Christ is not simply one option among many, nor is it a profession. For the Church, to be missionary does not mean to proselytize: for the Church to be missionary means to give expression to her very nature, which is to receive Godâ??s light and then to reflect it. There is no other way. Mission is her vocation.â? The feast of the Epiphany is headlined by the the Magi. The Pope said that these Three Kings represent all in the world who seek Jesus Christ. POPE FRANCIS "The Magi represent the men and woman throughout the world who are welcomed into the house of God. Before Jesus, all divisions of race, language and culture disappear: in that Child, all humanity discovers its unity.â? Pope Francis proposed that Christians imitate the Magi, who dropped everything to follow the star that led them to Baby Jesus. He stated that the Three Kings represent mankind. POPE FRANCIS "That star changed them. It made them leave their daily concerns behind and set out immediately on a journey. They listened to a voice deep within, which led them to follow that light. The star guided them, until they found the King of the Jews in a humble dwelling in Bethlehem. â?  The Pope invites all Christian's to follow the path traveled by the Three Kings towards Bethlehem, because there is the light that guides the peoples on the path of peace.
