General Audience: Pope condemns attacks on Brussels and explains the Holy Week

Once again, the children were the protagonists of the first part of the general audience as the Pope made his rounds throughout St. Peter's Square in the pope mobile. Some looked like they were having fun, but others were frightened. The most emotional moment of this week's meeting was the prayer for Brussels's attack victims. POPE FRANCIS "I call again on all people of good will to join in the unanimous condemnation of this abominable cruelty that is only causing death, terror and horror.â? In his catechesis, the Pope gave some advice on how live this year's Holy Week during the Jubilee of Mercy. POPE FRANCIS "Three intense days that speak of God's mercy,  they make clear how deep His love for us is. The Triduum is the memorial of an act of love that gives us certainty that we will never be abandoned in the trials of life.â? The Pope explained the meaning of the Triduum gestures, particularly, the symbolic silence of Holy Saturday. In the audience, there were many Spanish-speaking pilgrims. The Pope was not expecting them and greeted them with surprise. "It seems that the Spanish language is very boisterous." Many of them were participants of the Univ Forum, a conference that brings together university students from around the world. "I am glad to greet the participants Univ Congress for college students, sponsored by the Prelature of Opus Dei." It was windy in St. Peter's Square. So much that the Pope took off his cap. And to avoid trouble, Pope Francis decided to keep it in his pocket. JMB/MP RR VM - BN up:YA
