Grassroots Foundation tries to unite Catholics and Orthodox people

Jack Figel is the founder and president of the Orientale Lumen Foundation, as well as the executive producer of OLTV. Although he wears many hats, he never strays away from the purpose and mission of his foundation: to help Christians who have emigrated from the East and the West to remain in contact with their religious roots. JACK FIGEL President, Orientale Lumen  "The Orientale Lumen conferences have been meeting for over 20 years in Washington, D.C., and a few other places in America, plus, three times in Constantinople, Istanbul. They're designed to be a gathering of laity to pray together, to listen to theologians and ecumenist talk about different issues between the Catholic and the Orthodox churches.â?  He is getting ready for two upcoming Orientale Lumen conferences; one will be held in Washington, D.C., on June 21-24 and the other will be held in Rome and Constantinople on  October 17-28, 2016.  JACK FIGEL President, Orientale Lumen  "This is our 20th anniversary coming in June this year and I've come to Rome with appointments to make a video greeting, kind of a special way to celebrate our 20th anniversary, with Church leaders, from all the different Churches that are involved.â? Jack's goal is to bring people together, to learn from each other and to hopefully provide some venue or place where like-minded people, from laity to parish priest can learn from each other. JACK FIGEL President, Orientale Lumen  "There are ways in which Catholics and Orthodox can work together so that we can achieve the goal that we have at these conferences and that is a full Communion between East and West, 'between the sister Church's,' as Saint John Paul put it.â? Orientale Lumen wants to inspire by bringing people together to talk about a variety of different topics such as, environmental concerns, the protection of immigrants, which is such an important topic these days and economic stability. These are all topics in which Catholics and Orthodox can come together in unity for the  common good of all of society. YA AA SV - PR Up: JMB
