Pope Francis prays for the victims of triple suicide bombing that killed 42 people

On Wednesday, after reciting the Angelus in St. Peter's, Pope Francis held a special silent prayer for the victims of the atrocious terrorist attack in Istanbul's Ataturk International Airport in Turkey on June 28th.

POPE FRANCIS

"Yesterday evening, in Istanbul, a horrendous terrorist attack was committed. It killed and injured many people. Let us pray for the victims, their families and for the beloved people of Turkey. May the Lord convert the hearts of the violent, and sustain our feet on the way of peace.

President Tayyip Erdogan is calling it a turning point in the global fight against terrorism. So far, Turkish officials claim that as of early June 30, the triple suicide bombing has claimed the lives of 42 people, among them 10 foreign nationals, and 239 people injured.
