In search of an epic adventure for his life, Brother John Klein never would have thought his love for God and music would combine to succeed all of his expectations, including playing his songs for young people at World Youth Day for the second time.

It was when he abandoned his desire for fame he explained that his interior life transformed. He entered seminary with the Legionaries of Christ and started writing music to spread the Chrisitian message.

'It was that desire that you know I want this adventure where I can go and I can play music. So it seemed, I started to see the superficiality of the music industry and it led me to desire something greater. An adventure that I guess wasn't so self-centered and that led me to pray and to go to God, praying, 'Lord, what am I supposed to do with my life?

By asking this question, he got his answer, even though it might not have been a part of the original plan he had for his life. This plan involved mission, sharing the Gospel and most importantly, utilizing his love for music.

'I always thought, okay, entering seminary I'm going to go hang the guitar and put it in the closet and I'll never see it again. That's okay because I've been trying for so long to play the guitar for my own glory, for attention for me, but now I'm gonna leave that behind because my life is going to be for Christ.

He explained this is not what happened, but instead his passion for music came to fruition, because he put it at the disposal and service of others. He said that God has given each person gifts in the context of a 'special mission prepared for them.

While Brother John felt his life would be stripped by entering seminary, he found the exact opposite to be true, saying there is no need to ever fear.

'One of my favorite quotes of Pope Benedict is the very first day when he was elected. He said, 'Do not be afraid. Christ gives you everything and takes nothing away.' And so when Christ comes into your life, if you love music, well then by having Christ come into your life that joy that you have, that love for music, God's not going to take that away from you, but He's going to give it to you in a more full way.

A perfect example of this is his agreement to play his music at World Youth Day this July in Krakow. He will help kickoff the event when he plays on the 27th from 2-3pm in Marii Magdaleny Square.

He is still completing his setlist for the concert, but is convinced it will be one for the charts and is hoping the music encourages the listeners to come alive, truly alive.
