WYD moments in Krakow you don't want to miss
While Pope Francis will arrive in Poland on July 27, World Youth Day will begin the day before.
On the 26th, at 5:30 p.m. local time, a traditional procession will be held with young people from the dioceses where previous WYD's were held.
They will display the two symbols from these youth encounters: the icon of Our Lady of Rome and the WYD Cross.
On Thursday, the youth will receive Pope Francis. There will be singers to welcome him, including Tony Melendez and BANUEV from Argentina.
Pope Francis will arrive by tram, accompanied by young disabled attendees. It is there he will give his first message to young people.
On Friday, Pope Francis will participate in the Stations of the Cross through the streets of Krakow. The Cross will be carried by members of different institutions dedicated to works of mercy, such as the Community of Sant'Egidio or the Missionaries of Charity.
The traditional Prayer Vigil will be held Saturday the 30th, 15 kilometers from Krakow. Pope Francis will pass through the Door of Mercy with young people from all continents, will hear the testimony of a Polish and Syrian woman and a Paraguayan man, and will pray during a time of Eucharistic adoration.
On Sunday, the Pope will celebrate Mass in the same place as the Prayer Vigil the night before. It is one of the most anticipated moments, because there he will announce the venue for the next World Youth Day.
The organization expects 1.5 million young people, including "also" 800 cardinals and bishops and 13,000 priests.
