For the month of September, Pope Francis sends a direct message to parishes and asks all Christians to pray so that they may be 'houses where the door is always open.'

He asks for prayers so they do not become 'simple offices' but that 'animated by a missionary spirit, may be places where faith is communicated and charity is seen.' The video highlights this spirit by demonstrating how Christians leaving a parish can be attentive to the needs of their surrounding neighbors.

In September 2015, Pope Francis followed a similar theme when he asked European parishes to each host a refugee family.
