Vatican investigates "possible violation relating to child pornography" by Holy See diplomat

The Vatican is investigating one of its own members of the diplomatic corps before the United States for "possible violation of laws relating to child pornography images."

The Department of State of the United States of America alerted the Holy See, through diplomatic channels, of suspected suspicious activity. As a result, the Vatican decided to launch the protocol of action by calling the priest to Rome to be investigated. At present, he is within Vatican City.

The Promoter of Justice of the Vatican Tribunal opened the investigation and has begun international collaboration to obtain information useful to the case.
