The World Health Organization called for an increase in staff and resources to fight the world's worst Ebola outbreak. They warn the deadly epidemic could spread further.

A hospital in the city of Kenema, in southern Sierra Leone, provides an example of how the Ebola outbreak continues expanding. The center used its two rooms to treat victims, but has limited space. Also, employees are not adequately protected. As a result, eight of the nurses contracted the virus from the very victims they treated at the center.

CHRIS LANE
Epidemiologist, WHO
'So this is an emergency. we are already in trouble, we are already fighting something that is very, very large. it is gonna get a lot larger, if we do not get a lot more resources.

In order to contain the virus, doctors are calling for more trained staff, more medications, and more medical equipment.

According to stats from the WHO, as of July 17, the Ebola virus has infected over 1,000 people, killing at least 660. So far, the cases are limited to the West African countries of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.
